CBFCA's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Calendar 2019

We are delighted to announce our calendar of CPD events for 2019. As usual, we have a full range of events across the span of delivery modes to optimise opportunities for you to achieve the required 30 CPD points under the Continuing Professional Development Scheme mandated by the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs) / Australian Border Force (ABF).

Webinars

The CBFCA will conduct a range of webinars during 2018 for members to either attend as live sessions or to watch the recording of the session at any convenient time afterwards. These sessions, which will complement our existing library of pre-recorded events, will cover off the broad spectrum of topics in both Stream A and Stream B. Usually scheduled to be held midweek on a Wednesday and at 1300 hours SYD/MEL time, these one-hour sessions provide the very latest information on key topics with Australia's most experienced presenters.

Our plan is to provide a number of these webinars over the course of 2018 and these will be advertised via a Training Newsflash (TNF) within two weeks of the session date.

Regional Conventions and National Conference

These are the highlight events for many of our members as they not only provide for the attainment of CPD points but they also bring people together in a social environment to enjoy the company of fellow professionals and catch up on those we don't get to see as often as we would like. We have events in all the major capital cities during 2018. These events will be well-supported by the regulatory agencies as well as other presenters on technical issues of interest to members.

Member Legal Forums

Andrew Hudson from Rigby Cooke Lawyers will deliver two (2) legal forums per state throughout 2018. 
The first round of forums is scheduled in February prior to the end of the 2017/2018 CPD year, whereas the second round of forums will be held in November to complement your CPD points for the 2018/2019 CPD year.
