It is positive to see an increase in imports of 3.7% against September last year. Most commodities recorded gains for the month including furniture, miscellaneous manufactures, machinery, confectionary and toys & sporting goods. Commodities with the most notable declines were paper & fibre boards, vehicle parts, clothing and textiles.

Container exports was up 8.2% against September 2016. Several commodities recorded gains for the month including stockfeed, paper & fibre boards, timber, fruit & vegetables, metal scrap and meat. Commodities with the most notable declines were pulp & waste paper, oil seeds, cereal grains, malt and vehicle parts.
