Continued Biosecurity Competency Requirements for the 2020-21 Period (NNF 2020/100)

Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment crest

The Customs Brokers and Forwarders Council of Australia (CBFCA, as a Registered Training Organisation and approved Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) training provider has been in regular contact with the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment to plan for the 2020-21 CBC program and delivery. The CBC period is 1 April 2020 - 31 March 2021 and aligns with the Australian Border Force CPD year.

The department advised the CBFCA at this stage there will be only one CBC activity for Class 19.2 AEPCOMM accredited persons in this period and this will be scheduled in the second half of 2020.

The department has not scheduled a CBC activity for Class 19.1 NCCC accredited persons for the 2020-21 period at this stage. This is due to policies and procedures relevant to this approved arrangement not having been modified in the last year. As per the training and accreditation for broker approved arrangements policy the department may schedule additional activities during the CBC period if necessary.

The CBC requirements are communicated to industry via the following Import Industry Advice Notice published by the department.
