​As you would be aware the current CPD year ends on March 31.

Do you have your mandated 30 CPD points yet?

Further to DIBPN 2017/38, renewal of your customs brokers licences for the next triennium is also due. The notice, for the first time, mentions that non-compliance with CPD licence conditions can result in suspension and/or the issue of an infringement notice.

To assist you attain the last of your CPD points to meet your licensing requirements, we have put together a “triple treat” program for the February Professional Development Forums. We have THREE sessions of current interest to customs broking professionals. These are:

Session 1 – Illegal Logging – presented by Rebecca Sellers, Compliance Officer, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources

•    Common issues (and solutions identified by the Department)

•    Status of legislation -  what’s started, what’s about to start and what’s in the pipeline
•    Cases and consequences
•    Free Trade Agreement developments
•    Overseas issues moving our way

Session 3Technical sessions to be delivered by some of industry’s leading knowledge experts. These presenters are the real deal: current, experienced licensed customs brokers who really know their stuff. In these sessions we bring you:

•    Sue Danks (SYD Forum) - Sue will be presenting a Compliance update, including date of valuation and issues relating to overseas insurance
•    John Chambers (MEL Forum) - John will be presenting a session on GST on low value goods - The NEW requirements
•    David Lawson (BNE and FRE Forums) – David will be presenting a session on the tariff classification of accessories including  a review of the AAT case involving Laerdal Medical Pty Ltd

All three sessions will provide current, pertinent and technical information that you utilise and draw on in your day-to-day business practice as industry professionals and will enhance the services you can provide to your clients.

The sessions will provide excellent value for money at $60.00 (+GST) for members and $90.00 (+GST) for non-members.

Attendance will provide (9) CPD points in Stream A.
