Imported Food section update (NNF 2017/315)

The department has updated the reconsideration and review of decisions webpage from its website.

Key messages from this update:

• Importers can request reconsideration of 8 reviewable decisions under section 42, (2)a-h of the Imported Food Control Act 199 (the Act). All other matters fall outside the scope of section 42 reviewable decisions.

• The department encourages importers to contact the Food Safety Manager (FSM) at [email protected] if they have concerns about an initial decision made in relation to an imported food prior to initiating a section 42 application.

The updated webpage will be of interest to food importers and can be accessed via the DAWR website.
