Changes to cost recovery charges for biosecurity approved arrangements (NNF 2017/277)



As communicated in past newsflashes, we have been actively working with the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) to readdress, and reassess, the cost for the Approved Arrangements.

​ You may recall the CBFCA wrote to the Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources and continued to addressed the cost recovery model issues at the departments Import Finance Cargo Consultative Committee, for background information click HERE.

​ We are pleased to advise you the department has taken on board our concerns with the cost recovery model and has undertaken a review of the approved arrangement charging framework.

The outcome of the review has resulted in a proposed change to the charge points and their price, communicated in the following industry notices seeking feedback on the new charging proposals during stakeholder consultation period.

The department encourages all  industry participants to provide feedback on the new charging proposals during stakeholder consultation period.


The consultation period has now commenced and will conclude 5 pm AEDT Friday 5 January 2018.  Feedback on the proposed changes to approved arrangement charging can be directed to Cost Recovery.
