Les Burge - Well Done

I was recently privileged, on behalf of the Customs Brokers and Forwarders Council of Australia Inc. (CBFCA) to be asked by Dirk Haarhaus, Director of A Hartrodt Australia Pty Ltd, to make a speech at the retirement function for Les Burge.

Les will be well known to all members in WA and to many around Australia particularly Brisbane where he worked for some 15 mths in the early 70’s.

Les has been a stalwart of both the CBFCA and the wider industry in Fremantle for many years and was often looked upon as senior counsel for those seeking advice. His contribution to the industry and it’s members through both his formal and informal participation is a credit to his character. He has been involved on various committees and dedicated much of his personal time to the training of students entering our industry.

Les’s friendship to all and his knowledge will be sadly missed. He leaves a legacy in this industry that many of us would aspire too.

To Les and his wife Lynne we wish them all the best in retirement and may they enjoy their travels and time together.
