The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has stipulated that there will be mandatory training requirements under Chapter 1.3 of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code with the requirement that all shore based personnel involved in the transport of dangerous goods for sea be provided with appropriate mandatory training from 1 January 2010.

AMSA have stated that the mandatory requirement has been adopted in recognition that the successful application of the requirements and objectives of the IMDG Code is dependent on those involved having an appreciation of the risks and a detailed understanding of the requirements.

The AEP for Commodities training is delivered on-line.  The course costs $135 including GST.  To enrol in and commence the training course please access the Guardian Training website  www.iwgq.com.au and select 'Purchase a Course' from the left sidebar.
