e gate access (WA 2016/013)

As you may know, empty container depots in Fremantle have recently introduced an app for smartphones and tablets (eGate).

Developed by Containerchain, this app allows trucks to be electronically processed at the gates of the empty container park, thereby reducing queuing and processing time. It also provides excellent visibility of empty container movements to transport companies, drivers and the empty container depots, and is completely free to use.

Qube have also advised the industry that from 11 April, the app becomes a mandatory requirement for entry to Qube Container Park.

As part of the ongoing information and training program accompanying the introduction of this new technology, representatives of Containerchain and Qube will be available next week for a number of eGate Information and Q&A sessions aimed at transport company staff and truck drivers.

These sessions are free and there is no need to book, simply turn up to the session that suits you best.

The sessions will consist of a short (approx. 30 minutes) presentation, followed by an hour of Q&A. Carriers who have not yet downloaded the app or been provided with a login can do so at the sessions as well.

All of the sessions will be held at the Fremantle Ports (First Floor, Annex meeting room) at the following times :

TUESDAY 8 MARCH               10.00am to 11.30am
WEDNESDAY 9 MARCH        11.00am to 12.30pm, 1.00pm to 2.30pm

We would strongly encourage all transport companies in Fremantle to make sure that at least one of your staff have attended one of these sessions. We also encourage interested parties from shipping lines or importers/exporters/freight forwarders to attend.

If you have any questions about this please call us on 1300 944 083 or email [email protected].
