Change of Booking Procedure (Western Australia) (WANF 2015/033)
Members will have been receiving from the Department of Agriculture a notice on all bookings to advise of new procedures effective August 1.
These new procedures apparently have been in place on the East Coast for some years and it is now the Departments intention, in line with internal re-structuring, to commence this process in Western Australia.
I have discussed the changes with senior managers from the Department and will attempt to clear up any confusion.
The new process
will still allow for “timed / to meet” appointments in specific cases eg; Cargo Consignment Verification (the old ICE), UPE’s at a CTO, IFIP (at a non QAP), Perishables, Cargo on the Wharf.
In the circumstances mentioned above the broker should select “To Meet Onsite” and the booking officer will get back to you with a date / time for your appointment.
NOTE: In ALL other cases cargo will be inspected as requested in the “preferred time slot” area and where necessary access to cargo will need to be arranged with the depot operators
The template to use is as follows and should be copied / completed and included in the body of the email and
NOT repeat NOT sent as an attachment
From 1 August 2015 Import Inspection appointments will no longer be allocated at exact times.
Import Inspection appointments will be scheduled as either morning or afternoon (am or pm).
Please complete this form electronically and send to [email protected]
Note that after hours booking requests will be subject to officer availability.
