Aircargo Security Briefing Sessions (VNF 2017/022)

As members will be aware effective 1 July 2017, a need exists for all airfreight destined to the United States to be screened to the piece level. Advice in relation to these arrangements had been provided by the CBFCA, and full details are available on the Office of Transport Security’s website.

The Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) has, in conjunction with the key Container Terminal Operators (CTOs) and airport regulated air cargo agents, put together a workshop for service providers on these key issues. AFIF and the CBFCA are receiving enquiries from members for confirmation on a variety of airfreight acceptance issues by CTOs, on behalf of carriers to the United States, on the basis that it is the carrier which is responsible for the transport security issues with the United States Department of Homeland Security Transport Security Administration.

AFIF has extended an invitation for CBFCA members to participate in these security workshops in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Should members wish to attend, you will need to register with the CBFCA. Please click HERE to complete the Attendance Form and the CBFCA will provide that data to AFIF.
