NCCC and AEPCOMM Re-accreditation - latest news and FAQ (TNF2015/045)

As you would be aware, we opened up our courses last week for the two re-accreditation courses: one for the Non-Commodity Containerised Cargo Clearance (NCCC) Scheme and the other for the combined re-accreditation of the NCCC plus the Automatic Entry Processing for Commodities (AEPCOMM). Your response to these courses has been terrific and has allowed us to develop some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that we can share with you to assist you in undertaking your re-accreditation for one or more of these Schemes.

This FAQ will be updated as new questions come to hand but of course if you have a question that isn't cover here - and any query at all - feel free to contact the Training Team via email at [email protected] or by phone on (07) 3256 0146.

Is this re-accreditation mandatory?

Yes. If you wish to continue to operate as an accredited or approved person under these Schemes you will need to complete the re-accreditation to retain your current accreditation.

There are two courses, one for NCCC and one for NCCC and AEPCOMM. Which course should I undertake?

That depends on your current accreditation. If you are accredited only for the NCCC Scheme, you should undertake the NCCC re-accreditation course. On the other hand, if you have accreditation under both Schemes, then the combined NCCC and AEPCOMM re-accreditation course is the one for you.

What if I don't have AEPCOMM accreditation already? Will completing the combined NCCC and AEPCOMM re-accreditation give me that accreditation?

No. Both of these courses are re-accreditation courses only and should only be undertaken by persons who already possess the relevant accreditation. They will not give you an accreditation if you don't already have one but If you would like to undertake an accreditation course for either or both of these Schemes, please contact the Training Team who will be able to assist.

I am not sure whether I am AEPCOMM accredited or not. How can I find out?

As part of our service, we will be delighted to assist you with that. Just send us an email and ask us to check that for you.

Do I need to be a licensed customs broker to undertake the NCCC re-accreditation course?

No you don't. If you are not an LCB but are currently an "approved person" under the NCCC Scheme, you can undertake this re-accreditation course. In fact, if you want to continue your approved person status from 1 April 2016, you will definitely need to undertake the NCCC re-accreditation course. Note that only LCBs can be accredited under the AEPCOMM Scheme.

Should I wait until 1 April 2016 to complete this re-accreditation course?

No. You need to have completed this re-accreditation by the end of March 2016 if you are to maintain your ongoing accreditation in these Schemes. Why not beat the rush in March  and enrol now?

We have at least ten people in our office who need to complete this accreditation. Do you offer a bulk pricing arrangement?

Of course, Just give us a call or send us an email with your expected enrolment numbers and we will work something out for you.

What are the fees for the courses?

Each course is priced at a very competitive $90 (+GST). This is less than half the course fee from the last re-accreditation in 2009 and reflects the CBFCA's commitment to supporting industry in these more demanding times.

Can I get CPD points for completing the re-accreditation course?

Yes you can. If you are a licensed customs broker you can attain 3 CPD points for the NCCC course and 6 CPD points for completing the combined NCCC/AEPCOMM course.

How do I find out how to access the course online?

We have created a short video that will show you around the login process and the course itself. Click HERE to view that video but, as always, if you need any assistance, please contact the Training Team.
