FIATA Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year (TNF 2015/038)
The CBFCA is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the globally prestigious Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year, an amazing Award provided by FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations. The successful nominee will represent the Asia-Pacific region and be one of only four global nominees to vie for the FIATA Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award which will be presented at the FIATA World Congress in Dublin, Ireland in 2016.
As the winner of the Asia-Pacific Regional Award, the successful nominee will receive a prize comprising:
- Attendance at the FIATA World Congress to be presented with a Regional Winners's Certificate and a personal trophy
- Registration fees for the World congress paid for by FIATA
- USD$1000 towards return airfares to the event provided by FIATA
- Full accommodation provided by TT Club
- One year's free subscription to the International Transport Journal
Should the CBFCA Australian representative be successful in winning the global Award as the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award, he or she will also receive:
- An international certificate and an additional personal trophy
- One week's practical experience of transport infrastructure (multi-modal) located in a country outside of Australia which will include visits to container terminals, airfreight terminals, ports, surveyor's offices etc.
- One week's academic training at the TT Club's Head Office in London
- The costs covered for economy class air travel, accommodation and breakfast as well as an amount for personal expenditure
This is a truly spectacular Award with a CBFCA nominee winning the Asia-Pacific Award in 2012. This Award also complements the Emirates SkyCargo/CBFCA Academic Achievement Award that is being presented at the CBFCA's National Conference on 16 October 2015 and demonstrates the commitment by both the CBFCA and its wonderful supporters towards excellence in achievement by the students who undertake the CBFCA's Diploma courses.
Eligibility
The Award is open to any young international freight forwarder nominated by the CBFCA. The nominee must be no more than 32 years old in 2016 with ideally two years full-time experience working in an international freight forwarding role. The successful nominee will come from the ranks of students currently studying with the CBFCA for the nationally recognised Diploma of International Freight Forwarding or recent graduates of that same qualification undertaken with the CBFCA.
The successful nominee will be required to write a dissertation between 4,000 and 6,000 words on a topic relating to global movement of one import and one export commodity/cargo to/from Australia. The dissertation will be assessed by an international judging panel who will be looking for details of how the complexity of multi-modal moves was handled, how risks and challenges were overcome, the complexity of regulatory and cross border issues etc were handled. Full details of the requirements of the dissertation can be provided to nominees on request.
