CPD and CBC - the compliance year ahead (TNF2018/012)

Well here we are with CPD and CBC Compliance Year 2017-2018 year behind us and the 2018-2019 Compliance Year beginning from 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2019.

While the arrangements for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) year remain the same for Compliance Year 2018-2019, there are some changes coming up with the Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) Compliance Year mandated by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR). The DAWR CBC program requires that there are THREE mandated sessions that need to be completed during the 2018-2019 Compliance Year.

These are:

  • An information session
  • An "activity" relating to Approved Arrangement 19.1 (NCCC)
  • An "activity" relating to Approved Arrangement 19.2 (AEPCOMM)

The information session will be provided originally via a DAWR presentation at the CBFCA Regional CPD events to be held from April to June around Australia. This is the quickest and easiest way to complete that requirement which will also attract 3 CPD points out of the total 24 CPD points planned for those CPD events. To see more about those events in your region  click HERE. If you unfortunately cannot make the Regional CPD events we will provide an alternate means for you to access the information session. Note that this session must be completed by 31 March 2019

The compliance activities will be created as short, self-paced online courses that will be completed via the CBFCA's online College (www.italc.edu.au). These are still under development but are expected to be released by early May 2018 and need to be completed by early June. Note that this early completion time is to ensure industry is prepared for the changes coming about due to the AEP Reform Project. Click HERE to read more about that. We will send out a lot more information closer to that start date and keeping you abreast of the tight time frame for completion.

You can be assured that your CBFCA will be providing easy and cost-effective options for you to meet ALL of your CPD and CBC requirements for this new Compliance Year.  We guarantee it!
