Diploma of International Freight Forwarding - enrolments open (TNF 2016/021)

We are delighted to advise that enrolments are now open for the mid-year intake of students into the Diploma of International Freight Forwarding (new national course code TLI50316)

The Diploma of International Freight Forwarding has undergone a major review by industry and we are confident that the new Diploma of International Freight Forwarding (DIFF) will be very well received by both employers and the students who enrol in this program. The following are the key changes that have been introduced to the revised Diploma:

  • The are now 12 units of study in the Diploma instead of the previous 14. We recommend completion over 12 months so this lesser number of required units makes for a more balanced workload
  • The elective options have been simplified so that there are 9 core units and now just three electives instead of the previous five units that needed to be selected.
  • The new Diploma also provides for a cross-over into units from the Diploma of Customs Broking through the inclusion of elective Biosecurity and Classification units which were seen as providing graduates with a well-rounded layer of expertise in these critical areas.
  • Inclusion of Diploma of Customs Broking units in the DIFF provides for immediate credit transfer for people who have completed these units in the Diploma of Customs Broking.
  • The new Diploma contains a unit on Chain of Responsibility reflecting the increasing importance placed on this aspect of the supply chain
  • By arrangement with the International Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations (FIATA), and in recognition by FIATA of the quality of the CBFCA's study program, the new Diploma will continue to provide for the automatic granting of the prestigious FIATA Diploma of Freight Forwarding, the gold standard internationally for freight forwarding qualifications

We are very excited about the way this new DIFF has been designed and we invite you to enrol for this coming semester which starts in early July.

One thing that hasn't changed with the new DIFF is the extremely high level of commitment and expertise our teachers bring to these units of study. As a student you are totally supported throughout your learning journey by current, practising industry professionals who themselves hold the Diploma of International Freight Forwarding PLUS the teaching qualification mandated by the Australian training regulator (the Australian Skills Quality Authority). This is your guarantee of the highest level of training quality in this industry.

NOTE: The CBFCA is currently the major provider of the Diploma of International Freight Forwarding in Australia and we believe this demonstrates our commitment to this vital industry sector.
