Cargo Online Lodgement System Launch (NNF 2015/029)

The Department of Agriculture has issued a notice to industry advising that the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) is now available to all customs brokers from 4 March 2015

You can use COLS to:

  • lodge documents for imported cargo online, instead of using email or visiting an office
  • check the status of your lodgement in real time
  • request a directions reissue
  • access to a range of services at a time and place that suits you
  • consistent and priority based processing
  • electronic record keeping

Benefits of lodging online include:

  • access to a range of services at a time and place that suits you
  • fast secure lodgement
  • consistent and priority based processing
  • electronic record keeping

The User Guide is available on the Cargo Online Lodgement System website page.

It is important to note that we supported the COLS initiative and a number of CBFCA members participated in the testing during the Stage 1 and 2 implementation phases and found COLS to be very efficient and provides distinct advantages over the national email lodgement system.

We encourage you to start using COLS as this will be the main lodgement system and it's possible the email system may be discontinued in the future.
