New Manned Depot in Melbourne for BMSB Season (NNF 2019/198)

In preparation for the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) 2019/2020 risk season the Department of Agriculture (the department) has been working with existing Approved Arrangements aiming to increase capacity for onshore treatment and inspections.

Arrow Service Matters is very pleased to announce that the department has granted them a ‘manned depot’ status for their site at 96-108 Toll Drive, Altona North, commencing 2 September 2019.

With the 2019/2020 BMSB ‘stink bug’ risk season is about to get underway, this new manned depot capacity will provide a real alternative for importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders and transport companies to access biosecurity services.

  • Open to everyone – no restrictions
  • 2 full time department officers on site from 7:00am to 3:00pm every weekday
  • Weekends by appointment
  • Commencing 2 September 2019
  • One of only 3 manned depots in Melbourne and only manned depot outside the port precinct

It's important to note this additional manned biosecurity depot capacity will only continue if industry supports it.

Arrow Service Matters can perform container fumigation, machinery wash, unpack and inspect and rural tailgate.

From an industry perspective the additional onshore capacity is welcomed as the new BMSB season will continue to challenge the biosecurity system and industry.
