VICT Union Picket and Landside Update (NNF 2017/284)

At the Supreme Court, Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) won an injunction against the Maritime Union for the illegal picket outside the terminal gates at Webb Dock in Melbourne.

Despite this injunction the protest and blockage remain at the entrance blocking access to the terminal. VICT will attempt to open the gates today and every day to resume business as usual.

There are containers in the terminal which VICT wants to deliver but is being prevented from doing so.

VICT advises that no storage charges will be applied to containers for the duration that cargo is stuck at the terminal due to the illegal picket line.

VICT recommends transport operators to continue to monitor 1-Stop for any updates of developments.

CBFCA recommends that you work closely with your transport operator to co-ordinate the collection of any containers stuck at VICT.
