Update on Storage Declaration for manufactured wooden articles (NNF 2017/211)

Further to NNF 2017/174 Clarification on Storage Declaration for wooden manufactured articles, members have experienced ongoing confusion as to the need to present a storage declaration for FCL consignments treated in a container.

To address this issue the CBFCA has been in contact with the Plant Import Operations and Assessment Services Group at the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) and we agreed to update the Timber and timber products BICON case to include the following Warnings and Information Notice.

Timber and timber products BICON Case

This statement now confirms that  manufactured wooden articles in FCL consignments that have been treated in the container are exempt from providing a storage declaration. To link treatments to FCL consignments, container numbers are to be presented on applicable treatment certificates.

Based on this statement the department’s Assessment Service Group will  accept fumigation certificated for FCL containers as the evidence of treatment in the container and date of export.

For further information about the changes please contact Plant Import Operations on 1800 900 090 or email Imports.
