Imported Prawn Suspension Update (NNF 2017/123)

The following update has been provided by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and is forwarded for your attention.

"Please see the latest information regarding activities being undertaken as part of the imported prawn suspension.

Interim risk management measures for imported uncooked prawns:

• The department continues to implement interim risk management conditions for the importation of uncooked prawns and uncooked prawn meat.
• The department is considering processes required to resume trade in all prawn products should the suspension enacted by the Director of Biosecurity lapse on 6 July 2017.
• More information will be provided to stakeholders as it is available."
