Your membership is now due for renewal

As one of our valued members operating in international trade logistics and supply chain management, you are committed to maintaining professional standards, high standards of compliance, industry excellence, and quality service.

Your Industry Association

As the national peak industry association representing the interest of customs brokers, international freight forwarders and other associated entities linked to international trade logistics and supply chain management, the Customs Brokers and Forwarders Council of Australia Inc. (CBFCA)’s priority is to understand and support your business. During past member feedback you’ve told us about the challenges you face and where we can assist.

Here to help you

It continues to be a challenging time for many businesses.  We know business owners and managers are time-poor. You’ve told us you’re struggling to keep up with increased regulation and looking for advice and information on how to protect your business without getting overwhelmed in red tape and bureaucracy.  Through past member feedback you told us advocacy, industry representation, information, networking, training and professional development are key priorities for you and the CBFCA.

We're Listening

This year we’ve represented the needs of members to all levels of government and have continued to work to create an environment where businesses and individuals can operate efficiently, through lobbying Federal and State governments against increased regulation and influencing policy and process changes that impact on your business.  The mobilisation of CBFCA member resources enables it to achieve better regulatory and business outcomes with, inter alia:
  • Department of Immigration and Border Protection
  • Department of Agriculture and Water Resources
  • Office of Transport Security
  • State Port / Airport User Working Groups
  • Federal and State Ministerial arrangements
It’s important to note the CBFCA sets national agendas to address important policy issues and we lobby hard in the best interest of members. Unlike a union, the CBFCA is not aligned to any political party and should not be expected to play a role of a union as the CBFCA is bound by its own Rules of Incorporation and By-Laws.

However, your feedback has propelled us on a journey of change. To better meet our sole purpose of supporting members, we’ve taken a hard look at the services we provide, and how we communicate with you.

We're Changing

You’re the expert in your business and marketplace. We are here to make running your business easier and less painful, allowing you to spend more time and focus on your core business.  Whether it’s training your team, keeping you up to date with the latest changes in legislation, we can help you save time, which results in saving money.

To further integrate the CBFCA Administration functions, the CBFCA invested in fully integrated membership database software specific for not-for-profit associations, which provides a 360 degree view of our members and gains internal and external efficiency improvement to benefit the CBFCA members as well as the administration. The back office membership database software  integrates our new look website and provides a much improved member interactive interface, professional look website, improved search facility and improved communication.  The aim is to ensure CBFCA is effectively positioned with the enterprise level tools and solutions needed to ensure continuous growth and success into the future.

The CBFCA e-Bulletin combines local and international information on key issues and developments in one newsletter, allowing you to stay on top of what is happening in our industry right now. As information is power, the CBFCA e-Bulletin helps you to stay informed and it’s an information resource for you to share with your clients.

Advocacy positions and outcomes are communicated to members by way of National and Regional News Flashes, Member Forums, Webinars, Regional Conventions, National Conferences, publications, Insight Bulletins and members have access to a Regional Manager and/or the President in your Region for additional support.

Through past CBFCA member feedback, you told us training and professional development is a key priority for you and the CBFCA.  The CBFCA as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) operates under a strict Government compliance program in the delivery of nationally recognised training. As an RTO under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) the CBFCA is an accredited private provider of education and is recognised on the same level as TAFE colleges in the provision of quality training for this industry sector.
