The following information has been provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is forwarded for your attention.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has commenced a review of Australia’s System of Tariff Preferences (ASTP). The ASTP is the preferential tariff system that lowers tariffs for least developed and developing countries as a means to promote their exports and economic growth.

A discussion paper has been published on the DFAT website for comment. Submissions are welcome from all interested parties, and due by 15 July 2016.

Please see here for more information.

Submissions and any questions can be directed to ASTP Review.”
